If you are a seasoned Senior Bookkeeper with confidence in your skills, eager to take a leadership role in a company and assist us in expanding our department, and have a passion for bookkeeping, software training, and customer service, then we want to hear from you!

We are offering a newly developed position, initially for a 12-month period, with the potential to evolve into a permanent role as a team leader. The role requires four full days per week (30.40 hours) in our office, we have a face to face, in person, approach with clients. The days are flexible and you will be part of a team of four.

  • Know Your Numbers: Proficient in Australian accounting, including GST, Payroll, and Superannuation.

  • Process-Driven: You create streamlined processes and systems.
  • Certified: Minimum Cert IV in Bookkeeping (Desirable: Diploma of Accounting / Cert IV in Payroll).
  • Problem Solver: Troubleshooting and providing help desk-style support excite you.
  • Leadership Skills: You’ve led small teams and enjoy guiding others.
  • Effective Communicator: Excellent oral and written communication skills are a must.

Your Responsibilities

Your day-to-day will include:

  • Financial Compliance: Preparation of IAS & BAS, end-of-year GST & ATO reconciliations, general bookkeeping (data entry, invoicing, AP/AR, General ledger reconciliations etc.)
  • Payroll Management: Handling payroll tax returns, income statements, and TPAR.
  • Software Training: Providing Xero training to current and potential clients.
  • Client Onboarding: Welcoming new clients, conducting initial meetings, scoping our client needs.
  • System Setup: Assisting with Xero setup and software conversations.
  • Team Support: Overseeing, coordinating and assisting the more junior bookkeeping team members.
  • Month-End Reconciliations: Ensuring accurate financial records.
  • Troubleshooting: Addressing client issues related to Xero & MYOB.
  • Workflow Management: Delegating tasks and providing guidance.

Software Requirements

  • Xero (Expert level) - (plus Xero Practice Manager is desirable)
  • MYOB (Intermediate level)
  • Microsoft Suite (Advanced Excel, including OneDrive/Sharepoint)
  • Reckon / Quickbooks Online (Desirable)

We are a progressive, friendly, and forward-thinking accounting firm with a team committed to providing exceptional Business Advisory and Compliance services to a diverse range of small and medium business clients. 

Our team of 12 includes three support staff and four members in the bookkeeping department. Our commercial focus is about supporting our clients to manage their financial and business affairs in the most effective way.
