The Jones Group is a proudly Northern Territory owned and operated company that consists of a number of successful Agri businesses including but not limited to, North Australian Helicopters (NAH), Jones Cattle NT, Victoria River Roadhouse, The Top Springs Hotel, and the famous Coolibah Station.
The Role:
This role plays a key part in the support of the businesses finance functions and ensures compliance of financial administration across the group. The successful candidate will need strong organisation and time management skills; partnered with an ability to pick up any task and complete it within time constraint deadlines. You will also need exceptional communication skills as to provide regular reports and information to the General Manager, Managing Director, and the External Accountants.
Key Responsibilities:
- Management of all accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
- Monthly reconciliation of the aged debtor and creditor balances
- Regular reporting of key financial information (including aged debtor and creditor reports to management)
- Preparation of fortnightly end to end payroll for the group businesses
- Lodgment of all statutory requirements – including superannuation guarantee, payroll tax and work cover obligations
- Daily reconciliation of multiple bank accounts
- Monthly reconciliation of intercompany transactions and loan accounts
- General ledger reconciliations and accruals
- Maintenance of the asset register
- Providing relevant information to the external accountants for month end close, tax and financial reporting purposes
About you:
The successful candidate will have a positive can-do attitude, proven experience working within a similar role and possess a demonstrated high-level of interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. You will also have strong attention to detail and work to a high level of accuracy.
- Previous experience in a similar role
- The ability to work effectively with high workloads and competing priorities
- Ability to communicate effectively across all levels
- Strong computer literacy skills
- Ability to work both independently and in a team
- Experience using Xero is desirable but not essential
