Our Client, a large Federal Government Department is currently seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst for a long term contract opportunity to work with a team of professionals to approach the market for a LIMS product.

The Senior Business Analyst - LIMS Agile Implementation Project will be pivotal in the procurement and implementation of a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) by:
Responsibilities:
- Developing a business case and value propositions for the LIMS solution, highlighting its benefits and features.
- Reviewing and gathering existing business requirements documents and identifying gaps;
- Working with stakeholders to refine and expand the functional and technical requirements and specifications for the LIMS solution;
- Preparing procurement documentation, such as request for quote, tender evaluation criteria, and contract negotiation strategies;
- Creating and maintaining project documentation, including business requirements documents, user stories, wireframes, mock-ups, data models, and test plans;
- Mapping current and future state processes in collaboration with subject matter experts, quality assurance professionals, and other analysts;
- Work with training managers and BAU support group to train end-users and troubleshoot issues during and after LIMS implementation;
- Liaising with potential vendors throughout the procurement and contract negotiation process;
- Providing support and guidance to the implementation team during the design, build, deployment, and testing phases of the LIMS solution;
- Translating business requirements into technical specifications and ensuring alignment with the system architecture and design;
- Communicating and coordinating with the development team, the quality assurance team, and the project manager throughout the software development lifecycle.
Qualifications:
- At least 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst or consultant in the life sciences industry
- Bachelor's degree in business, information systems, biotechnology, or related field;
- Experience with LIMS implementation, configuration, and validation;
- Knowledge of laboratory workflows, data standards, and regulatory requirements;
- Excellent stakeholder, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills;
- Experience working independently and as part of a cross-functional team;
- Ability to quickly adapt to highly technical areas such as biotechnology and diagnostics;
- Experience working with scientists and promoting compliance with departmental policies and guidelines.
