The opportunity

QBE is currently looking for a SeniorBusiness Analyst - Operational Resilience Platform Implementation to join QBE’s Group Technology & Operations team to help globally embed QBE’s new Business Continuity Management system (BCMS), and support our readiness to meet the new regulatory requirements within APRA’s CPS 230 Operational Risk Management standard.

Your new role

You will work closely with subject matter experts on QBE’s BCM framework and BCMS platform implementation, and will be responsible for a range of activities to support the broader project team and global stakeholders. Activities will include but are not limited to:

  • Conduct business needs analysis and mapping key processes

  • Translate policy into pragmatic application requirements

  • Assist with workflow analysis and process improvements

  • Engage with a broad set of global stakeholders

  • Support a robust program of work to ensure milestones and outcomes are delivered

  • Facilitate assessment of change required to uplift legacy processes and systems

  • Assist with the maintenance, development, and management of practices within Operational Resilience and BCM disciplines

  • Contribute to a framework of global best practice in data quality and nomenclature in a staged implementation plan

The successful candidate will report to the Senior Manager, Operational Resilience and will work closely with stakeholders from QBE’s operational resilience program of work.

About you

The ideal candidate will have great soft skills, be articulate, and have strong written expression.  The role will suit someone with prior experience as a Business, Change, or Regulatory Analyst who wants to gain exposure to a wide range of business functions and processes on a global initiative. 

You will have experience working with varied teams and multiple levels of stakeholders, helping to identify and monitor key transformation metrics, and drive change for improved outcomes. A good understanding of process mapping and interpreting process models and abstract concepts will be necessary. You will also need to be inquisitive, have excellent communication and relationship building skills, and have good exposure to complex analytical project work.

Ideally you will also demonstrate:

  • An ability to write User Stories and Quick Reference Guides

  • Experience with SaaS platforms, including understanding the nuances of managing relationships between SaaS vendors and internal stakeholder groups

  • Insurance industry or other financial services industry experience, and a broad understanding of the financial services regulatory environment

  • Experience in Agile ways of working

  • Experience designing As-Is To-Be mapping, standard operating procedures, and impact assessments

  • Have a working understanding of Business Continuity Management and Risk Management disciplines

  • Experience in either a Global program delivery or working across varied time zones is an advantage

  • Experience rolling out frameworks is an advantage
