Senior Business Analyst, Information Technology
 

  • Employment Type: Temporary (with possibility of extension) 
  • Employment period: until 30 June 2026
  • Classification / Grade / Band: Clerk Grade 09/10
  • Remuneration: $120,859 - $133,183; plus, Superannuation and Leave Loading 
  • Location: Sydney CBD, Flexible & hybrid working options available

Your day as a Senior Business Analyst

Your typical day-to-day work will include managing the review and analysis of the organisation's business intentions, services, processes, and information needs to identify changes that lead to business improvements. This position is also responsible for conducting research and analysis, evaluation of functional and non-functional requirements and development of technical/non-technical specifications documentation.

You will be joining our Financial Management and Services Group and will be working within the Information Technology Division. Read more about your future Group and Division.

What you can bring to the role

In this integral role there are a few things we would like for you to have to best support yourself and add value to the people of NSW. 

The ideal candidate should meet the following criteria:

  • Extensive relevant experience in a similar role and/or experience in Information Technology 
  • Strong analytical skills with astute attention to detail 
  • Demonstrated experience in using process/workflow modelling techniques (e.g. data flow diagrams, Business Process Modelling Notation, among others) 
  • Proven experience in conducting assessments to identify business processes with automation potential 
  • Demonstrated currency of knowledge in agile software development life cycle delivery 
  • Demonstrated effective stakeholder management, influencing and dispute resolution skills 
  • the ability to work autonomously and demonstrate high levels of self-confidence
  • certification in PRINCE2, or PMBOK, or BABOK, are highly desirable.

Eligibility
