Senior Business Analyst (Edp)

We are supporting our esteemed client in the search for a seasoned Senior Business Analyst to join the Enterprise Data Platform (EDP) Evolution project.

The Senior Business Analyst will be responsible for providing business intelligence and data analysis, process analysis, systems analysis and support to other project team members. The role requires great communication, stakeholder management skills as the Business Analyst will navigate across multiple business groups as well as technical teams within the Digital division of the organisation.

Requirements

The position requirements are as follows:

• Work with business stakeholders and data analysts to elicit requirements and translate into user stories;
• Identify information sets, source data and business logic or calculations applied and then document requirements in the form of user stories;
• Create data visualisation mock-ups and reverse engineer requirements from existing solutions;
• Undertake testing activity to ensure data models and visualisations correlate with specified business requirements;
• Undertake functional testing activities related to the development and implementation of the platform;
• Support project team/s to successfully deliver the project/s using contemporary tools and applications such as Jira and Confluence; and
• Ability to develop and deliver presentations that clearly articulate the issues and proposed solutions, in a dynamic / changing environment.

Selection Criteria

Selection of the successful bid will be based on the following criteria

Essential Criteria:

• Demonstrated experience working on and facilitating / co-ordinating the delivery of business intelligence or analytics outcomes across a diverse organisation;
• Demonstrated experience working with regulated entities and an understanding of the compliance requirements, including reporting and provision of information to regulatory bodies;
• Demonstrated experience working on projects that provide corporate dashboard and reporting solutions to Board and Executive level management teams;
• Demonstrated ability in establishing and building relationships with business managers and ICT service providers and negotiating outcomes in a complex environment;
• Competent in understanding SQL and embedded business rules; and
• Competent in understanding Excel advanced functionality (as may be used by accountants and engineers).

Desirable Criteria:

• Practical experience in project tools and applications such as JIRA, Confluence and SharePoint;
• Experience and knowledge of the energy industry with an understanding of potential future directions across the sector;
• Understanding of Project Delivery life cycle and Agile methodology; and
• Experience in authoring dashboards, reports and preparing presentations for senior audiences.

Duration

12 month contract with the option to extend.

Reporting Structure

The role will report to the Business Analysis & Initiation Lead.
