In alignment with the Myer Merchandise strategy and Customer First plan, develop, buy and execute a category plan that delivers a compelling and profitable merchandise range that delights the customer. This is the ideal role for a senior level buyer with a progressive mindset that can elevate an already performing category to the next level.
- Exciting portfolio of National Brand Womenswear
- Work partly remotely and partly from our Support Office based in Docklands
- Take ownership and drive the execution of the Myer Merchandise strategy for National Brand Womenswear
- Full accountability for trading the category and implementing appropriate tactical activities in relation to sales, profit, stock to drive business outcomes
- Act as 2IC for Category manager with potential to take on business development and market scoping activities as required
- Manage complete range selection for National Brands including, financial growth strategy, product selection, go to market strategy and in season trade of the brand
- Maintaining solid competitor and trend analysis to remain relevant and build a range to suit the market and Myer customer segmentation
- Apply advanced negotiation skills to achieve optimal trading terms that deliver commercial targets
- Work collaboratively with the planning team to determine assortment plans, conduct PSA, build product strategy, and determine best sourcing methods for the product
- Be responsible for marketing plans and our communications strategy
- Lead team to high performance through regular and effective coaching, feedback, mentoring and training and development opportunities
- Seasoned experience within Buying, ideally within Womenswear
- A strong understanding of the customer, and the product category to build compelling ranges
- A dynamic, strategic individual with the ability to proactively spot new opportunities for the business within this category
- A commercial and tasteful eye for product
- Strong business acumen, financial and analytical skills
- Superior supplier relationship management skills
- Experienced in trade marketing and strong negotiation skills
- A leader who inspires others and can lead by example
