The guest experience platform.
This is an Australian-founded SaaS business that builds technology that creates the best guest experience within the leisure and attractions industry. From ticketing to POS, CRM, memberships, payments, guest feedback, and plenty more.
While the tech industry was on fire in the US and being torn to bits in Australia, ROLLER has continued to grow, here and abroad, and secure further investment, in a time where only a select few businesses were able to raise.
It’s a huge success story that certainly has flown below the radar.
We’re talking success to the tune of 10M+ attendees a month, over 1,700+ venues in 30+ countries, and over $10B+ in total transactions processed to date!
The techy bits
The ROLLER platform is a predominantly distributed monolith but with microservices + serverless components. They have numerous frontend Angular SPAs and fleets of containerized API services built with C# .NET 6, backed by SQL Server 2022 database clusters, all rolled out globally on AWS infrastructure with a cell-based architecture.
They’ve developed sophisticated CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps that enable them to build, run 1000s of unit/integration/security tests, and deploy to their comprehensive pre-production systems and then roll out to their global production infrastructure at lightning speeds.
The role
As a Senior C# .NET Engineer you will work within the ROLLER ecosystem of apps that make-up their platform, creatively solving for technical + product challenges at scale. You will partner closely with their more junior engineers, product managers, QAs and more, and contribute to the maturity of their delivery capability through mentoring others.
Their product delivery squads operate in true end-to-end fashion & you’ll work across their stack from cutting code all the way through to their infrastructure. As a leader within the team you will contribute to a culture of quality, set the tone on their engineering best practices, and ensure business impact is the north star within the team.
What you bring to the role
- You are curious, without ego, and love collaborating + solving problems with pragmatism.
- You have experience working in a product environment.
- You have strong written and verbal communication skills and have opinions to share… but they are loosely held.
- You’re either a backend or fullstack software engineer (we’re open to both!)
- You have 5+ years of commercial experience designing, building, maintaining and shipping web services in C# .NET.
- You have strong experience with SQL and relational databases, particularly around performance.
- You have strong experience with AWS and cloud services.
What’s in it for you?
