About the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission
The NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission (the NDIS Commission) is an independent agency established on 1 July 2018 to improve the quality and safety of NDIS supports and services. The Commission is the dedicated national regulator of NDIS service providers in Australia and a non-corporate entity under the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act 2013.
Purpose of this position:
The Work Health and Safety (WHS) function support the Commission in effective management of health, safety and wellbeing in the workforce.
The WHS team aims to create a safe and healthy workplace that nurtures and supports the health and wellbeing of our staff, ensures the Commission complies with our legislative WHS duties and requirements, manages risks to health and safety in our work environment and supports injured or ill staff to successfully return to work.
Key duties of the role
The Senior Case Manager reports to Assistant Director, Wellbeing and Inclusion. Key accountabilities include:
1. working collaboratively with all stakeholders, develop efficient case management solutions based on relevant legislation, policies and procedures;
2. undertake efficient and effective delivery of end to end health case management activities for injured or ill employees, including compensation claims and non‑compensation cases, early intervention injury management, return to work and reasonable adjustments relating to health;
3. actively manage rehabilitation providers to ensure safe and durable rehabilitation outcomes;
4. providing accurate and timely HR/WHS advice and support to managers;
5. support the WHS team with incident and hazard reporting and intervention activities, including stakeholder engagement, incident investigation and corrective action management;
Essential Requirements
Our ideal candidate will be a highly motivated individual with a contemporary attitude to people with disability, proven experience in strategic thinking and project management. The role requires independent thinkers who enjoy working in a team environment, as well as the following attributes:
1. tertiary qualifications in human resources, WHS and/or equivalent experience working on rehabilitation cases;
2. demonstrated experience with case management resolution, preferably in service delivery environments;
3. Allied Health, insurance, clinical, supervisory and/or workplace-based rehabilitation experience would be highly regarded;
4. high level communication, relationship building, interpersonal and influencing skills, including ability to coach and educate leaders on best practice people management;
5. strong written and verbal communication skills;
6. excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; strong relationship management and influencing skills
