What you'll be doing
Chronic and Complex (CAC) Allied Health services focus on restoring, improving, or maintaining older people’s independent functioning and wellbeing. The focus of these services is assisting older people to regain or maintain physical, functional and cognitive abilities which support them to either maintain or recover a level of independence, allowing them to remain living in the community. This position works as a member of a Chronic and Complex multidisciplinary team.
The Senior Occupational Therapist is responsible for the clinical leadership, co-ordination, and clinical governance of the Occupational Therapy service, to provide a professional level of service, with a commitment to multidisciplinary and evidence-based approaches to service delivery and improving health outcomes.
The senior Occupational Therapist is responsible for contributing to the planning, implementation, evaluation improvement and reporting of the occupational therapy service within the CAC team.
CAC Occupational Therapists are expected to work from different locations across WSLHD as reasonably required.

Essential Criteria
Qualification:Tertiary qualifications in Occupational Therapy
Registration: Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) registration as an Occupational Therapist
Selection Criteria
Substantial post graduate experience and skills in Occupational Therapy assessment, planning and evaluating interventions for clients with chronic and complex health conditions.
Demonstrated experience and ability in professional and clinical supervision, and support of staff
Able to utilise relevant evidence based, best practice guidelines to guide decision making for best client outcomes
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
High-level written and oral communication skills, computer competence and ability to use electronic medical records, word processing and databases
Current Drivers License valid within Australia and willingness to use for work purposes
