Senior Civil Engineer - Major Oil and Gas project - Flexible work options - Perth based
Our client, a leading engineering consultancy, is looking for a Senior Civil Engineer to join their team for a major Sustaining capital Oil and Gas project. They currently own one of the strongest project portfolios in WA, across the Mining, Oil & Gas, and Energy sectors. Due to their variety and stable project pipeline, they offer long-term contracts which they are keen to turn into ongoing or permanent arrangements according to your preference.

Responsibilities
- Support the team of engineers and designers in delivering the sustaining capital and execution of projects in a timely and cost-efficient manner
- Ensure the technical delivery of all civil-related elements such as access roads for long linear infrastructure, earthwork pads for new carbon capture drill centres, and tank storage farms while also managing interfaces with existing underground services
- Perform supporting tasks including:
- Take part in relevant meetings, deliver progress reports, and follow required checking procedures;
- Make sure the project scope is clear and that changes align with project change management processes;
- Offer help and advice during procurement, construction and commissioning such as writing requisitions, conducting technical bid evaluations, and writing purchase orders
- When needed, act as the Civil Engineering Lead on specific projects where the responsibilities could include:
- Scope management;
- Technical supervision of junior engineers;
- Cross-disciplinary management to ensure successful delivery of Customer requirements
- Resolve any discrepancies between the company and its customer's requirements in a timely manner
- Effectively communicate with the Civil Engineering team and other project stakeholders
- Determine issues and problems, form appropriate solutions, and ask for assistance when required
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Civil Engineering or relevant undergraduate
- Proven experience in Civil Engineering design in the mining, energy, and/or infrastructure sectors
- Familiarity with bulk earthworks design, drainage, and heavy pavement design is essential
- Previous experience with relevant software such as MicroStation, AutoCAD and 12D is highly desirable
- Experience working with a team with diverse backgrounds and the ability to work independently and in a team
- Proven technical and practical engineering skills and ability to consistently deliver quality, and timely work
- Knowledge of applicable local and international standards and statutory and regulatory requirements
- Experience using Civil Engineering-specific software and previous exposure to developing civil design in the Pilbara region is advantageous
- Exposure to oil and gas facilities is desirable but not required.
