About the Role

The Senior Claims Specialist will manage a case load and the associated interventions required to ensure multifaceted cases achieve the best possible recovery and return to work outcomes. 

You will apply your advanced claims, injury and return to work management skills, together with exceptional stakeholder management skills, to achieve optimal outcomes for injured workers, employers and DXC.

You recognize that you play an integral role in the delivery of a critical service that will have a significant impact on the lives of our injured workers at a difficult time.

You will also work in a senior capacity supporting case managers through mentorship and development activities to provide a level of strategic and operational support as required.

To be successful in this role you will have an ability to demonstrate:

  • A strategic, proactive and an innovative approach to case management.
  • Significant experience in preparing for, attending and actively participating in claims reviews and clinical case conferences to effectively facilitate outcomes for injured workers
  • Evaluate aspects of an injured workers recovery & liability relevant to the Victorian workers’ compensation scheme while completing ongoing reviews in relation to entitlements and payments.
  • Provide guidance and support to claims teams with interpretation of complex claims scenarios and strategies to deliver appropriate, multi-layered, and timely interventions.
  • Deliver face to face claims management support to injured workers, employers and relevant stakeholders as required to deliver successful return to work outcomes.
  • Lead and deliver cohort-based claims strategies at Team, Practice Group and DXC levels.
  • Take on lead claims management responsibility for platinum and complex customers
  • Lead portfolio responsibilities to support delivery of specific contractual obligations

Required Expertise

  • Significant claims management experience in the Victorian workers’ compensation scheme
  • Knowledge of medical and paramedical terminology and procedures, including the forms of treatment applicable to injuries
  • Strong working knowledge of the Workplace Injury and Rehabilitation Act 2015 & associated regulations
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of ACCtion and Novus
