About the role
The Senior Client Systems Security Engineer is responsible for supporting and informing the Manager Client Systems regarding the secure design, implementation and operation of TAFE’s physical and virtual end user environment across a large and geographically dispersed organisation. The position works broadly and collaboratively with other Security Engineers and specialists and has an afterhours on-call requirement to meet business needs.
We have 1 x permanent position with hybrid and flexible work arrangements and negotiable location within NSW (Subject to campus availability).
About You
As a Senior Client Systems Security Engineer, you will monitor and maintain TAFE NSW's end user computer environment to ensure reliability, performance and security. You will advocate for continuous improvement in TAFE’s operating environment. You have a proactive approach in overseeing desktop infrastructure to ensure security, conduct analysis on practice and procedures to drive innovation and implement appropriate strategies to promote a safe workplace.
You will have significant experience in Client Systems Security Engineering roles with specialist technical capabilities relevant to the role in a large organisation with complex technology systems or similar. You will also have demonstrated experience applying information security and/or cyber security principles and concepts and willingness and ability to work on-call afterhours to meet operational requirements.
You confidently communicate with stakeholders, have sound judgement in identifying risks and delivering solutions, and are a team player. You work well autonomously but enjoy building trusting relationships and take initiative and promote practices to ensure compliance across the team.
Highly Regarded
- Ability to maintain a secure and consistent end user environment through the use of relevant tools, group policies, and scripting languages such as Powershell, Python and Bash.
- Experience managing end user devices with Intune, Config Manager, Jamf Pro and endpoint security with Microsoft Defender for Endpoint.
- Previous involvement in the design and implementation of security controls to meet the requirements outlined in the Australian Signals Directorate Essential Eight.
