Our client is one of Australia's leading systems designer and manufacturer for Defence, providing mission critical solutions to the ARMY, Navy and Air Force for over 50+ years and counting and currently have an exciting 6 - 12 month contract opportunity for a veteran Navy Electronics Technician to provide installation, maintenance and commissioning of critical defence communications and Combat Systems fitted to the DDG platforms for the RAN. You will be a critical member of the maintenance team working collaboratively and supporting the greater efforts of the business's needs.
MUST have a current or reinstatable NV1 clearance, and previous experience working on RAN ships/boats as a greenie.
Role: Senior Combat Systems and Communications Technician
What we are looking for:
- Certificate III (or above) in Electronics, Communications, or equivalent discipline (required).
- Ideally three (3) years post-qualification experience, preferably in a maritime, defence, or shipyard environment with practical knowledge of maritime communications systems.
- Experience with production installation of hardware and cabling using design drawings and cable running sheets.
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic experience.
- Familiarity working within ISO quality standards, electrical/data interface protocols, and server system/network protocols.
- Familiarity with radio and satellite communications.
All candidates must have a reinstatable or active NV1 clearance or above and ability to work on-site full-time.
