Senior Communications Adviser
* Salary: $106,534 to $128,897 (Plus Superannuation)
* Fixed term until 28 February 2025
* Usual work location: 35 Collins Street, Melbourne/Hybrid
Please note: Due to Machinery of Government changes under Section 30 of the Public Administration Act (PAA), effective 1 January 2023, your employment will be with the Department of Government Services. Corporate Services, including payroll, will be provided by the Department of Jobs, Skills, Industry and Regions while a process for the formal transfer of staff in impacted areas is implemented.
The Role
This Senior Communications Adviser position supports the manager to deliver best practice communication guidance and advice and integrated communication strategies and campaigns that align with department and government priorities.
The role will work closely with the Telecommunications and Local Government Victoria business areas to showcase their work and manage emerging issues. This includes developing and delivering communication materials such as communication strategies and content, small campaigns, advertising, social media, online and printed communication and publications.
The role also works in collaboration with a range of partners and stakeholders including project managers and teams, executives, ministerial offices, and stakeholders to support the delivery of project and departmental objectives. The Telecommunications and Local Government Victoria areas are issues rich and fast paced. The role will be joining at an exciting time of project delivery and reforms.
The Team
The position of Senior Communications Adviser forms a part of the Digital Transformation Group and Communication Division. This division provide strategic advice and guidance on media, marketing, digital and communication (internal and external) to best position DGS and deliver informative and educational content to staff, the media, stakeholders and the community.
About You
An ability to develop strong relationships internally and with key stakeholders is vital to this role and will require someone who has a flexible and solutions-oriented approach, is confident and diplomatic and has excellent communication and stakeholder skills.
