About the Role
Brisbane Girls Grammar School welcomes applications for a Senior Communications Officer to join our Communications and Engagement Department. This is a full-time, ongoing position.
The Communications and Engagement Department is a high-performing team responsible for the delivery of compelling, purposeful communications to maintain effective engagement with key stakeholders and to promote the School's reputation as one of Australia's leading girls' schools. In 2025, the School will celebrate its 150th anniversary, and in 2026 will broaden a Girls Grammar education to Years 5 and 6, providing an exciting opportunity to contribute to the School's communications activities.
Reporting to the Communications Manager, the Senior Communications Officer will deliver an exciting range of innovative communication projects that uphold the School's reputation as a leader in exceptional scholarship.

The key accountabilities of the Senior Communications Officer include:
- managing the delivery of School publications (in print and online), including developing content plans, writing articles, editing, proofreading and liaising with external suppliers
- in consultation with the Communications Manager, producing and sharing creative stories of interest about the School, and its staff and student achievements, for a range of communication channels
- in consultation with the Communications Manager, planning, developing, delivering and evaluating comprehensive communication and engagement plans that align to the School's strategic objectives, as outlined in its Strategic Design
- providing strategic communication advice and execution on a broad range of internal and external issues
- keeping up to date with relevant communications and marketing trends, and emerging technologies.
You will also have:
- tertiary qualifications in Communications or Journalism
- minimum of five years' experience in a similar role in a high-performing environment
- experience in the use of digital platforms, including marketing automation systems, website content management and social media
- expertise in media liaison
- the ability to acquire and maintain a Positive Working with Children Check (Blue Card).
