Senior Media, Communications And Engagement Officer

Eden Ritchie is seeking a Senior Media, Communications and Engagement Officer with a strong internal communications focus to join the Portfolio Investment and Performance branch of the Department’s Infrastructure Services Division.Your natural creative talents mean you can jump from writing briefing notes, intranet copy and presentations, to assisting with urgent Communications and taking on stakeholder engagement activities in a busy environment.In this busy role you’ll need relevant experience preparing and implementing communication plans, effectively delivering through a variety of channels that promote key policies and programs. Detail driven, you’ll be responsible for liaising with relevant organisational units, various stakeholders, delivery partners, and staff to produce results.

As the Senior Media, Communications and Engagement Officer, your key responsibilities will include:

• Researching and preparing well written and engaging communications content for a variety of audiences and mediums including the provision of content for websites and digital platforms.
• Planning, managing and prioritising Communications and Engagement activities to successfully meet deadlines and reporting requirements within tight time constraints.
• Event planning including the preparation of event specific materials including briefing notes, function profiles, program schedules and event run sheets.
• Stakeholder relationship management using consultative, interpersonal skills to successfully communicate and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
• Providing high level advice to clients, staff and management within the division to assist with urgent media issues and crisis communications.
• Working effectively and collaboratively within a team environment to meet deadlines and establish work priorities to maximise efficiency.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience:

• Tertiary qualifications in communication, public relations, journalism or related discipline with subsequent relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training in the industry.
• Experience working in communications team, on stakeholder engagement on various projects, campaigns and initiatives in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work with various internal stakeholders to support the achievement of business objectives through communication activities.
• Strong interpersonal, verbal and written skills, including a demonstrated ability to write with clarity and precision for multiple audiences.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain various communication channels and creative content for both digital and print.
