We are seeking a Senior Consultantto join our Process Optimization Services team. You will be responsible for mineral processing advisory services, particularly in separation equipment, which involves engaging with our customers, plant auditing/model development of flotation circuits, and presenting the final results. Your role plays a crucial part in the Process Optimization of the concentrator plant, which will contribute to the added value of optimization services to our end users.
This position is preferably in Espoo/Pori, Finland, Santiago, Chile, Lima, Peru, or Brisbane/Perth, Australia, but we are happy to offer flexible working arrangements at other locations. This is a hybrid role and may require 30-50% travel.
Team you belong to
You will join a team of mineral processing experts dedicated to solving our customer's most advanced process challenges. We are currently working on global projects from comminution through final thickening. The team resides within Metso’s Digital organization, and your role will be crucial for developing and scaling our service capabilities. In this position, you will report to the Director of Process Optimization Services in our Process Design and Optimization team.
We work closely with our end users and internal stakeholders, such as equipment product groups and business lines within the minerals, services, and consumables organizations. Our team culture is all about delivering results. Our team members are located in Canada, the United States, Mexico, Brazil, Finland, and Australia.
What you’ll do
- Coordinate, direct, and take part in mineral processing plant audits.
- Interviewing and collaborating with plant personnel to help them achieve their objectives.
- Statistical data analysis, data reporting, troubleshooting, and technical problem-solving.
- Modeling of processing plant circuits, precisely flotation circuits.
- Liaise with front-end sales teams to develop business and win opportunities.
- Liaise with internal/external mineral processing laboratories.
- Engage with internal stakeholders to enable profitable growth for other Metso entities.
- Provide technical support for deliveries of Metso’s portfolio of digital solutions.
- Contribute to scaling our services portfolio and delivering value-added solutions to our customers.
Who you are
- An advanced degree (MSc/PhD) in Mineral Processing or similar education is preferred.
- Minimum eight years experience in mineral processing, process engineering, or metallurgy.
- Must have experience in flotation equipment product knowledge, analysis, and modeling.
- Experience using Metso’s HSC Chemistry software is preferred.
- Experience working at mining company operating sites is preferred.
- You are comfortable collaborating across boundaries in a large organization.
- As a technical expert, you are a strong communicator, clearly and concisely discussing complex technical topics.
- In this senior role, you are comfortable working under pressure in demanding production environments.
