The Sr. Contracts Specialist is responsible for the preparation and oversight of high-quality customer, site and vendor contracts, Additionally, this position supports the pricing, planning, execution and control of investigator grants. The Sr. Contracts Specialist also assists in development of negotiation strategies, site rate cards, identifies areas of contract risk, and works with internal stakeholders to ensure proper understanding of the contract and associated budget(s).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Develops strong working relationships and maintains effective communication with Elligo management, staff, customers and sites
- Works independently in the management of contract inventory, including contract development and negotiations
- Plays a key role in managing timelines to ensure expeditious site start-up
- Responsible for reporting contract and budget negotiation progress to internal and external project teams
- Negotiates and manages all amendments and change orders to existing contracts
- Ensures that contracts are executed and centrally stored in accordance with corporate guidelines
- Collaborates with internal stakeholders to ensure proper understanding of the contractual terms and associated budgets
- Partners with Proposals on investigator grant preparation/negotiation, as needed
- Maintains various contractual templates in line with company branding and pricing strategy
- Ensures Salesforce and SharePoint systems are updated as appropriate
- Participates in customer/site meeting preparations and discussions
- Liaises with third party vendors for provision of quotations where required
- Mentors junior personnel, providing training as needed for the contract lead role
- Performs other duties as required by the department and Elligo leadership
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Self-motivated; able to work independently to complete tasks, respond to department requests and collaborate with others to utilize their resources and knowledge to identify quality solutions
- Strong organizational skills: ability to accomplish multiple tasks within the agreed-upon timeframes through effective prioritization of duties and functions in a fast-paced environment
- Clear and concise written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present ideas and suggestions clearly and communicate effectively with all levels of management, as well as customers and sites
- Proactive and timely follow-up skills: the ability to organize applicable department timelines and follow up with internal and external stakeholder needs as needed
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and prioritization skills
- Highly detail oriented and accurate in work
- Proven track record of building and maintaining solid relationships with both internal and external stakeholders Ability to work with functional groups and different levels of employees throughout Elligo to achieve business results effectively and professionally
- Aptitude to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- 4+ years of experience directly related to contract management in the clinical research industry
- Demonstrated proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet, database, presentation software (MS Office skills such as Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint), and Salesforce
- Intermediate Excel experience
- Proven ability in developing grant budgets for clinical trials
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field
- Experience preparing contracts and budgets for clinical trials
ENVIRONMENT:
This is a remote position operating in a home-office environment.
Approximately 5% of travel may be required to support the position’s responsibilities.

- regularly communicate via e-mail, telephone, chat, webcam (remote sessions such as MS Teams or Zoom), and exchange accurate and timely information;
- frequently sit/stand/walk, grasp lightly/fine manipulation of objects
- occasionally reach/work above shoulders, twist/bend/stoop/squat, grasp forcefully, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 20 pounds.
