Our client is a rapidly growing government authority based in the inner suburbs of Melbourne. Operating under a lease granted by the Victorian Government, they are now on the hunt for a capable, commercial and ambitious Senior Corporate Finance Specialist to undertake a 12 Month Contract within their finance team.
Position Objective:
We are seeking a Senior Corporate Finance Specialist to collaborate closely with our Treasurer and Corporate Finance Analyst & Senior Analyst. The role involves critical support for enterprise valuation, budgeting, long-term business planning, refinancing, regulatory & tax strategy analysis, and strategic growth capital project assessments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Refine, maintain, and update a fully integrated 50-year Integrated Corporate Model (IM) suite.
- Conduct regular model updates to support budget/business plan/valuation cycles.
- Assist in debt/capital structure analysis, including refinancing strategies.
- Perform regulatory and tax/structuring modelling to support financial strategies.
- Contribute to strategic growth capital project assessments and other analytical tasks.
- Monitor and report on key business and financial KPIs.
- Understand and comply with Quality, OHS, Environment, and Asset Management obligations.
- Engage in safe and environmentally sound work practices and risk management programs.
- Participate in workplace assurance programs including audits, inspections, and observations.
- Take reasonable care for health and safety, undertaking OHS training as required.
- Advanced financial modelling skills, including proficiency in Excel and VBA coding.
- Detailed understanding of Corporate Finance principles, valuation, and capital structures.
- Relevant Commerce/Finance/Accounting degree with 3-5 years of relevant experience.
- Ability to manage tight timeframes, prioritize tasks, and work efficiently with attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative, flexible outlook.
- Ideally studying towards or having achieved Full Membership of CA, CPA, or CFA.
- Self-Management: Proven ability to achieve outcomes within challenging timeframes.
- Communication: Ability to convey complex information clearly and succinctly.
- Stakeholder Management: Demonstrated skill in building and managing relationships.
