And they are currently in need of a Senior Learning Designer to help with their online Course Content creation.

 
This would be the perfect career move for school teachers (past and present) who are looking for a move away from the classroom and into a role that benefits from being experienced in creating lesson plans which are easily digestible for the end user (the learners), yet doesn’t have the typical school-related expectations and chaotic working environment (students)

Job Description

Reporting to the Learning Director, you will work closely with their enterprise clients and academic subject matter experts, to take raw content and transform it into content for online course modules that are pedagogically sound and result in a high-quality learning experience.

Their process involves the following steps: 

  1. Content writing 
  2. Instructional / learning design 
  3. Digital production 
  4. Delivery 
 
Content is considered ‘complete’ when it is ready for digital production (handled by the tech-team).
 

Responsibilities of the Role 

  • Prepare/conduct / attend client and learner workshops and presentations.
  • Work with subject matter experts to design and develop program architectures. 
  • Work with subject matter experts and clients to convert raw academic content into high quality learning materials, ready for digital production. 
  • Project manage the development of programs, including;
Maintaining the learning development schedule and Manage a learning development squad, which may include other learning designers within the business, and third-party contractors, to meet production deadlines and deliver programs as per contract schedules. 

 
Requirements

  • Proven track record in the design and development of engaging and compelling Course Content and learning journeys – in either a corporate or academic setting. 
  • Proven expertise in managing teams to successfully meet required outcomes, standards and deadlines.
  • Excellent knowledge of adult learning theories and contemporary instructional design models with demonstrated evidence of their successful application, including in online delivery. 
  • Demonstrated expertise in the use of educational technologies including web-based learning management systems to facilitate learning. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.  
  • Demonstrable success in fostering and managing complex relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Additional Information/Benefits
 
  • Up to $150,000 (inclusive of Super and 10% bonus)
  • They operate on a hybrid working model with 2 days in the office (Tuesdays and Thursdays) and 3 days WFH.

  • You will be in a team of 15 employees which is set for rapid expansion over the next 2 or 3 years and an essential part of the university’s wider Lifelong Learning strategy.
