Senior Data Analyst

Our state government client is seeking a Senior Data Analyst who will provide high-quality data analysis, mapping, and modelling to assist in the implementation of a new contemporary and coordinated case management system. This program emphasises client-centric, integration-enabling, and data-driven approaches to deliver effective interventions and improve outcomes for children, young people, and families. The program will consist of interconnected projects aimed at implementing innovative legislation, practice frameworks, and business processes, supported by technology and guided by a human-centered design approach.

• Undertake data mapping against an ICT solution and identify the delivery of data sets to support Product delivery.
• Understand business needs and processes to identify, analyse and document detailed data requirements.
• Work with business representatives to determine priorities and validate and justify the requirements.
• Participate in data extract, transformation, and migration activities.
• Work with development teams and other skilled analysts to validate functionality against the data requirements.
• Provide timely, strategic, and expert advice regarding data requirements, information requirements, business impacts, scope management, and project risks.
• Manage the delivery of work to a schedule and assist in the setting and managing of expectations.
• Use high-level communication skills to negotiate, establish, and maintain networks and working relationships.
• Apply standardised templates, methodologies and processes for data analysis activities and related project documentation.
• Lead and work collaboratively with a wide range of staff at all levels.
• Contribute to business integration, change management, and testing activities.
• Actively manage a working environment supporting quality human resource management practices including employment equity, anti-discrimination, occupational health and safety, and ethical behaviour.

• Proven expertise in data ingestion, cleansing, manipulation, and modelling.
• Experience in eliciting, analyzing, specifying, documenting, and validating stakeholders' business data needs.
• Proficiency in data and report development relevant to the role.
• Familiarity with applications employing complex relational architecture.
• Previous engagement in large, complex multi-disciplinary organizations, showcasing effective written communication, documentation, stakeholder engagement, and workload management skills.

• Proficiency in data manipulation and ETL processes, particularly with Microsoft Azure Cloud Data Platform tools such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, Profisee, and Azure Data Verse.
• Strong ability to develop intricate SQL scripts, queries, and stored procedures for data extraction and analysis.
• Skilled in creating complex reports, incorporating intricate business rules and data architecture considerations.
• Understanding of the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) landscape within the public sector.
• Capable of overseeing projects from inception to completion, adapting plans as needed, and demonstrating personal accountability and initiative while fostering collaboration and communication within the team.
