The Senior Data Analyst will be responsible for supporting the Principal Data Analyst and Director, Projects and Data to provide advice on a range of projects on the JRO work program and for the analysis and interpretation of data for publications and report preparation.
Your key responsibilities
- Contribute to research and the preparation of reports, briefs and presentations on criminal justice issues for provision to a wide variety of audiences using appropriate research methodologies and data analysis tools (such as R, SAS, SQL, PowerBI, etc).
- Undertake detailed critical analysis of information and statistical analysis of complex data sets for inclusion in research reports, policy briefs and other publications.
- Provide advice on JRO initiatives in relation to statistics, data requirements and sources, methods of analysis, and the necessary systems and processes, including quality control, to ensure optimal integrity and accurate interpretation of the information.
- Liaise with key stakeholders within and external to the department with regard to the availability, quality and interpretation of criminal justice data.
- Prepare authoritative statistical reports, documents, presentations, executive briefs, publications and correspondence as required.
- Experience in related fields would be highly regarded but is not mandatory. Further, experience with the integration and dissemination of a strategically significant data product suite, including confidential and/or personal data, would be highly desirable, but is not mandatory.
- Demonstrated experience in analysing criminal justice administrative data is highly desirable.
- You may be required to represent the JRO at a variety of inter-departmental and inter-agency meetings and ensure effective nconsultation and collaboration on policy issues that impact the implementation of initiatives of the JRO.
