About the role
- The Risk division is embarking on a strategic data transformation program to migrate the risk reporting and analytics capability onto Google Cloud Platform.
- A Senior Data Analyst is needed to understand current state risk reporting eco system and play a crucial role in designing and implementing the target state risk reporting and analytics platform on cloud.
The mission of the Group and Wholesale Risk/Modelling & Reporting Transformation Area is to provide cutting edge risk management services, across wholesale and group risk area to deliver a better banker and customer experience leveraging data and business rule focused solutions.
What will your day look like
- As a Senior Data Analyst, you will be working within a product squad responsible for delivering an end working product to users. The product will relate to a specific type of risk reporting done within the business today.
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of current state risk reporting in the bank across all stages of the value chain i.e., data sourced, transformation layer, risk reports produced, and business use of them for monitoring and decision making.
- Engage with stakeholders to understand current state and be the key Business and Data SME to other project members internally.
- Play a lead role in contributing to overall design of target state solution. This spans across identifying data sourcing, modelling, and visualisation of data on cloud. Ensure solution integrity across the different components of the solution.
- Working with business and technology stakeholders to define reporting requirements and detailed logic for calculations of risk metrics.
- Identify value add opportunities to deliver useful insights using enriched data and modern technology.
- Coordinate testing and reconciling outputs from new platform against business requirements.
What will you bring?
- Strong banking domain experience & experience in data driven projects or roles
- Experience engaging with stakeholders at various levels and across multiple disciplines
- Experience translating business requirements to technical solutions or data driven solutions
- Relevant experience as a data analyst or logical modeller in similar initiatives
- Strong SQL skills and track-record of applying advanced SQL logic to build reporting and analytics solutions or data warehouses
- Expertise in Enterprise Data Management frameworks
- Knowledge of data management concepts such as SCD2
- Metadata management knowledge
- Google BigQuery experience
- Experience with other Google Cloud Platform tools
- Experience with DBT or other similar data transformation tools
