An exciting, permanent opportunity has become available for a Senior Business Intelligence Data Operations Analyst.
The Health Insurance Business Intelligence (HI BI) Data Operations team is undergoing changes and is looking to expand its influence into multiple teams. With this change comes the expansion of the Data Operations role to include governance and quality, ensuring that the HI BI team have controls in place to confidently report critical figures to the Health Insurance Business Unit.
Reporting to the Business Intelligence Operations, Governance & Quality Manager, the Senior Data Operations Analyst ensures the stability and timely delivery of a broad suite of existing reporting assets and dashboards as well as the ingestion of new reports from the wider Business Intelligence & Reporting team. This role will require the individual to think strategically and adopt a continuous improvement mindset to further the scope of the operations team to include Data Governance and Data Quality.
How will I help?
- Supporting the maintenance and optimisation of a complex suite of reporting and Business Intelligence assets by utilising a broad range of technical tools
- Mentorship and coaching of Junior Team members to ensure knowledge sharing through best practices, and encouragement of personal growth.
- Develop strategies to influence our governance and quality standards into other teams
- Maintaining key data reports, extracts and contributing to process improvements to ensure that the HI business can respond quickly to changing market demands.
- Supporting the continuous improvement of processes and structures to ensure best practice for Data Operations.
What do I need?
- Expertise in SAS, SSIS, Power BI, Synapse, VBA and Databricks suite necessary
- Highly experienced in data analytics, data quality, data governance, data warehousing and reporting
- Strong business acumen with strong written and verbal communication skills & ability to engage stakeholders at all levels
- 5+ years technical knowledge and skills across the Microsoft Data Platforms & Data Analytics
- 5+ years of hands-on experience using SQL to extract and manipulate data for reporting and insights
- 2+ years of experience using Microsoft Power BI (including DAX coding)
- Demonstrated ability to present to large groups, conveying technical concepts.
- Tertiary qualifications in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science or a related quantitative field
- Expertise in analysing data sets, quantitative analysis, data mining, predictive modelling and creating data visualisations
