Maters Digital Technology and Information Division is currently looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join the team in a permanent full-time position.
Join our team as a Senior Data Engineer, a role crucial to our commitment to data-driven excellence at Mater. Reporting directly to the Manager of Data Analytics - Operations, you will play a pivotal role in delivering robust and innovative data solutions to users across our analytics environments.
You will assume a crucial role in shaping, developing and maintaining on-premise and cloud-based Data Lake and Data Warehouses, meeting the comprehensive data requirements of Mater Group. Your duties encompass not only providing vital support and leadership to team members in the data and analytics realm but also addressing technical and operational challenges.
Your primary emphasis will be on collaboration with business users and analysts and your objective is to persistently contribute to the design and development of our organisations data and information solutions.
What you'll be doing
Step into the role of Senior Data Engineer and be a driving force in achieving our product goals through technical excellence and innovation. In order to do this some, but not all tasks include:
- Architect sophisticated data solutions both on-premise and cloud based
- Collaborate closely with business stakeholders to define and address data solutions and reporting requirements
- Prepare raw data from a diverse range of sources
- Contribute significantly by using cutting-edge data analysis techniques
- Develop timely data extracts
- Offer support on data-related issues
To be successful, you will require:
- A University Degree or equivalent with relevant focus on Data Engineering or relevant commercial experience is required
- 5+ years' experience in on premise Microsoft SQL development environment including (SSIS) and the ability to write advanced T-SQL
- Significant experience in Cloud ETL development using (Informatica Mass Ingestion, Databricks, Py Spark, Spark SQL, and Notebooks.)
- 5+ years' experience in Data Modelling in a Data Warehouse / Lakehouse environment
- Always ahead of the curve by actively engaging with industry trends and technologies
- Strategic thinker with a passion for driving data-centric innovation
- Experience in Agile development practices using GitHub and Dev-Ops
- Significant experience as a Solution Designer / Senior Data Engineer in a data related field.
- Certification or relevant experience in the Oracle platform in a Health care setting is desirable.
