About the team
In this position of a Senior Data Scientist, you will report into the Data Science Lead.
You will work as part of a high performing, technical team serving as a trusted advisor by cultivating relationships with stakeholders and across various Leadership teams to improve their understanding and knowledge of data science techniques. You will research new Advanced Analytics opportunities in areas of prediction, regression, machine learning, text mining etc to identify new opportunities for future solutions.
You will also oversee the smooth delivery of the Advance Analytics solutions in line with best practice and support the team, and strategy, contributing to the direction and implementation of the data and analytics strategy and roadmap within Advanced Analytics team.
Key responsibilities
Your key responsibilities will include the following but not be limited to:

• Technical Expertise

• Act as a technical expert in one or more areas of Advanced Analytics
• Research new Advanced Analytics opportunities in areas of prediction, regression, machine learning, text mining etc to identify new opportunities for future solutions.
• Build the broader analytical expertise of AA team members by sharing novel analytical approaches and applications
• Understand market context, competitor capability and customer trends to support Advanced Analytics strategies.
• Serve as a trusted advisor by cultivating relationships with stakeholders to improve their understanding and knowledge of data science techniques.
• Promote the use of Advanced Analytics by translating complex mathematical techniques into consumable and commercial concepts.

• Delivery

• Contribute to the Architecture of new Advanced Analytics solutions
• Participate in the delivery of Advanced Analytics projects and techniques in line with best practice.
• Deliver a seamless and proactive service to stakeholders articulating customer opportunity, commercial benefit, analytical findings and data recommendations. Showcase, benchmark and quantify the value and outcomes of analytics based decision making.

• Team and Strategy

• Mentor and support other members of the team to develop their understanding and use of Advanced Analytics techniques.
• Promote a culture of innovation in areas of machine learning, statistics and artificial intelligence to identify new solutions and new opportunities
• Contribute to the creation and implementation of the data and analytics strategy and roadmap within Advanced Analytics team.
• Participate in the development of Advanced Analytics best practices and/or standards as they relate to

About you and your skills

• Analytics professional with a proven track record (5+ years) in advanced analytics / data science / Measurement science and/or Econometrics
• Track record in designing and delivering Advanced Analytics solutions
• Key analytical techniques, e.g. regression, clustering, decision trees, machine learning, text mining etc.
• Analytical applications -R, Python, Scala, Hive, Spark, SQL, Excel
• Productivity applications - Git, Jira, Confluence

Leadership & Innovation Attributes

• Good scientific research skills
• Keep updated with industry development and best practices
• Regular literature review

Good things to have

• Master's or PhD degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Econometrics, Applied Statistics, Physics, Engineering or related field.
• Business and commercial acumen
