Job description

Company Overview: Join our dynamic and rapidly expanding supply chain team! We are a leading organization committed to optimizing inventory outcomes and ensuring seamless stock availability. As a Senior Demand Planner, you will play a pivotal role in our success, collaborating with regional and national teams to drive efficiency and contribute to the growth of our supply chain operations.

Position Overview: As a Senior Demand Planner, you will lead the charge in optimizing inventory outcomes through strategic analysis, collaboration with cross-functional teams, and proactive management of procurement planning. This role offers substantial career growth opportunities within a thriving and dynamic work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Inventory Optimization:

    • Investigative Analysis: Regularly analyze inventory data to identify patterns, trends, and inefficiencies. Use this analysis to suggest improvements in stock management, such as better allocation of resources or changes in ordering patterns.
    • Stock Turnover Recommendations: Develop strategies to increase stock turnover, ensuring a balance between demand satisfaction and minimizing overstock. This could involve re-evaluating order quantities, timing, and supplier selection.
    • Collaborations with Regional and National Teams. Work closely with the Regional General Manager, state-based teams and National Planning and Inventory Manager to align inventory strategies with overall business goals. This involves sharing insights, collaborating on broader initiatives, and ensuring regional and national strategies are complementary.

Weekly Region Meetings:

    • Conduct weekly meetings with allocated regions to understand and address immediate stock availability needs.
    • Monitor and address stock issues within regions, providing transfer solutions as needed.
    • Present, discuss, and amend demand planning settings to enhance forecast accuracy.
    • Supply Chain Issue Escalation: Proactively identify and escalate supply chain issues that impact inventory, such as delays from suppliers, quality issues, or logistical challenges

Procurement Planning:

    • Oversee all procurement planning for the region, aiming to minimize stockouts without over-purchasing.
    • Continuously monitor future stock availability and manage relationships with overseas suppliers.
    • Identify alternative solutions and make necessary adjustments to procurement plans.

Malaysian Manufacturing Collaboration:

    • Weekly Operational Coordination. Engage in detailed discussions about procurement, inventory management, and logistics with the Malaysian Manufacturing team. Ensure alignment of strategies and immediate responses to changes in demand or supply conditions.
    • Warehouse Capacity Management: Be aware of and manage the limitations in warehouse capacity, coordinating the flow of stock directly from Malaysian manufacturing to optimize space and resource utilization.

Co-ordination of Local Purchasing Prompts:

    • Co-ordinate local purchasing prompts for warehouses.
    • Assume leadership of the procurement function for larger suppliers as needed.
    • Utilize the planning platform (DSX) to drive prompts, exception reporting, and settings management.

Planning Platform Expertise:

    • Act as a high-level user of the planning platform (DSX by Logility).
    • Monitor and maintain exception reporting, settings, forecast accuracy, and network routing.
    • Utilize the platform's capabilities to increase efficiency and improve service for warehouse operations.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or related professional qualifications.
  • Proven experience in demand planning, inventory management, and procurement.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in planning platforms.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and lead cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking and goal-oriented mindset.
  • Willingness to adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
