Your new role
Your new role as the Senior Desktop SOE Engineer will be focused on managing and maintaining the Departments', and shared partner agencies, desktop Standard Operating Environments including design, configuration, deployment, technical security and operation of desktop related components. You will be working under the limited direction of senior staff and you will exercise both initiative and judgements in the interpretation of policy, and in the application of practices and procedures. You will use your good judgement, skills and knowledge to make informed decisions regarding the project. You will also be managing and organising your own work in the context of competing priorities, including contributing to business planning, changes in workplace practices and business improvement strategies.
In this role your responsibilities will consist of, but will not be limited to:
Providing third level support for users and managed personal computing devices.
Providing broad technical support for project build, test and solution deployment activities.
Monitoring, tuning and maintaining ICT software components and perform system testing.
Liaising with the infrastructure team in the design, procurement and deployment of hardware and related assets.
Scheduling and performing regular maintenance and updating of supported products.
Collaborating with stakeholders to resolve issues and ensure effective and timely implementation of business solutions.
Primary Technologies: Windows Server, Windows Desktop, Applications Packager, Rapid 7, Broadcom Data Centre Security Engineer.
What you'll need to succeed
As the successful candidate, you will have demonstrated experience and ability in:
Minimum three plus years' experience in SOE migrations, projects and implementation.
Three plus years' experience as a Windows Desktop SOE Engineer in enterprise environments.
Strong technical knowledge of Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager including SCCM, InTune, Active Directory - Group Policy Management, RBAC, AppLocker and WDA.
Strong Scripting ability (PowerShell, VB Script).
Facilitating large and enterprise scale software deployments, upgrades, and enhancements of environment wide configurations including user policies, device policies, security policies and automation scripts through enterprise grade endpoint management platforms.
Experience in VPN technologies and Active Directory – Group Policy Management, RBAC, M365 Security Products (Microsoft Defender).
