The Mater Department of Dietetics and Foodservices has an exciting opportunity for an experienced and highly motivated Senior Dietitian to join their dynamic team in a permanent or maximum term, full-time basis until the 5th of January 2025.
Dietitians at Mater Health provide comprehensive, high quality, evidence based Nutrition and Dietetics services to both adult and paediatric patients within Mater public and private hospitals. This position will be based at the South Brisbane campus.
Salary range:$60.01-$64.54 (Health Practitioner Level 4) per hour plus superannuation and not-for profit salary packaging
What you’ll be doing
The Senior Dietitian is responsible for the service delivery across one or more clinical areas to ensure evidence based clinical standards are maintained, deliver on quality improvement and service development initiatives and contribute to the professional development of less experienced staff.
The successful applicant will also be responsible for:
- Managing an allocated clinical workload to deliver a high level Nutrition and Dietetic services across Mater Health
- Initiating, implementing and evaluating relevant quality improvement activities and clinical research projects based on best practice and valid evidence
- Delivery of high level clinical dietetic services
- Practice supervision, leadership and performance development to less experienced Nutrition & Dietetics clinical and operational staff and students
About you
The successful applicant will demonstrate:
- High level of knowledge, expertise and skill in one or more areas of Nutrition and Dietetics, and ability to provide clinical services of a complex nature
- Ability to provide clinical education, supervision and contribute to performance development assessment of less experienced dietitians, students and support staff
- Excellent interpersonal and communication sills (both written and verbal) and the ability to liaise with a variety of different stakeholders both internally and externally
- A strong work ethic, positive attitude and willingness to role model and promote the Mater values
The successful applicant must also have:
- Tertiary qualifications in Nutrition and Dietetics and current Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD) status (or Provisional APD status as appropriate).
