Job description

The Small Business Development Corporation (SBDC) is the primary provider of small business information and guidance within the Western Australian Government. We support the development and growth of small business providing information, referrals and business advice, and deliver programs to address specific needs within the small business sector. SBDC encourages people who are representative of the broad WA community to apply.About the PositionThere is currently one full-time 7 months fixed term position with the possibility of extension or permanency.Applicants assessed as suitable (but not recommended for appointment) during this selection process may be appointed to other similar fixed term, casual or permanent (full-time or part-time) vacancies that may occur throughout the Corporation over the coming 12 months.The Senior Digital Communications Officer leads the delivery of the Corporation’s digital marketing and communications content and platforms, including strategic development, planning, implementing, managing, risk evaluation and reporting across a wide range of digital channels and activities to encourage, promote, facilitate and assist the establishment, growth and development of small business in Western Australia.Manages the strategic direction, development and implementation of a cohesive, best-practice and creative Digital Communications strategy that will support to the Corporation’s strategy and operational functions.A full statement of duties for the position can be found in the attached Job Description Form (JDF).You can also obtain more information about the role expectations and responsibilities by contacting Helen Theoharakis, Senior Digital Communications Officer on 0468 987 510.Selection MethodologyA variety of assessment methodologies may be used throughout the recruitment process, including:

  • A written statement that addresses the following work-related requirements (in no more than two pages) for the role:
  • Significant experience in developing and implementing digital communication strategies, campaigns, websites and projects including ability to plan, develop, implement, manage and evaluate effective and timely digital communication plans and responses.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and/or undertake the end-to-end delivery of web based projects.
  • Well-developed relationship development skills, including the ability to work collaboratively, negotiate and consult with a range of internal and external stakeholders and influence others to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Well-developed research, copy writing, proofreading and editing skills, including the ability to prepare online content.
