About the position:
This position is responsible for supporting a broad spectrum of digital communications across the organisation as well as to key stakeholders, members of the City of Greater Geraldton and wider community. It will heavily assist in the maintenance and development of the City’s online presence including existing websites, online communications and various social media platforms. This position assists in the City’s online marketing activity which aims to promote a professional and corporate image to internal and external customers, and ensures consistent messaging and branding. Essential to the position is supporting the Communications team in delivering a range of different written, design and online communications.
Key accountabilities:
- Assist the communications team with all aspects of media and communications.
- Coordinate and develop various City websites and contribute to the revision and writing of web content to ensure information is dynamic and current.
- Manage and monitor various City social media accounts and provide statistical reports for City web pages and social media accounts.
- Produce and oversee video content for various internal and external campaigns.

Position requirements:
Ideally the successful applicant will have tertiary qualifications in Digital Medica, Communications and/or Media. However, as a minimum, applicants will possess comprehensive digital communications experience in an online communications role including experience in the management of various social media platforms and online CMS systems.
Completion of a pre-employment medical including alcohol and other substances testing is required of all positions at the City.
Remuneration and benefits:
A salary starting from $81,618 per annum or $41.3046 per hour will be offered dependent on knowledge, skills, experience and qualifications.
