Meerilinga has been operating since 1911 and is Western Australia’s foremost organisation to advocate for children's rights, create a positive environment for children's development, provide high-quality educational and community services, and support the well-being of children, families, and the community. All this find expression in seven Early Child Learning and Community centres across the city, Parenting Education and Services as well as a Training College for Early Child Learning Educators.
About the role
We are seeking a creative, dynamic and enthusiastic Marketing & Communications Officer with a passion for all things digital. This position is responsible for implementing Meerilinga’s Marketing and events strategy for all Services.
We are a small, close-knit team that collaborates closely together. Full support and opportunities for professional-development will be provided. This is an excellent opportunity to start or aspire to further your Marketing and Communications career in the rewarding Not-For-Profit (NFP) sector.
About you
Reporting to the Marketing and Communications Coordinator, you will be responsible for independently sourcing and generating engaging content for internal and external communications as well as creating lead generating Marketing campaigns. You need to be confident and outgoing, with the ability to build trust as you engage with stakeholders (staff/families/children) of all ages and backgrounds. You will thrive on meeting deadlines, constantly improving your content to receive maximum engagement and lead generation. You take pride in your job and work tirelessly to make sure that all organisational objectives are exceeded.
You are a tech native, with proven abilities in photography and videography, as you will be telling our story with unforgettable imagery. Working for a NFP, you will be able to work within financial constraints, using your own initiative to make quality content within a budget.
General:
- Qualifications in Graphic Design, Media and/or Digital Marketing
- At least 2+ years experience in a similar role
- Valid driver’s license and a reliable car – you will be driving out to any of our eight service locations to take photos and videos, and write stories
- Ability to work within a small team. You will need well developed time management, project management, and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated computer and technology skills, including the wider Microsoft Office suite.
- Current, or willing to apply for, Working with Children Check WA and National Police Clearance from the last 6 months (these can be applied for on employment)
Marketing and Design
- Advertising experience understanding Google Ads and Facebook Ads,
- Social media management experience including campaign creation and management,
- Photography and videography experience, including editing to create short videos and producing media for release,
- Website editing with Wordpress,
- Experience with Search Engine Optimisation,
- Experience using Survey Monkey or similar survey tools,
- Exposure to event organising,
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite InDesign, Photoshop, Premiere Pro, and Illustrator and online design tools including Canva,
- Ability to create a variety of marketing collateral including flyers, social tiles, infographics, and signage etc.
