Salary Closes: 06 February 2024 Classification: ACT Courts and Tribunal Legal 2 Salary: $159,727 - $166,147 plus superannuation Position No: 50010 Directorate: Justice and Community Safety Advertised (Gazettal date): 23 January 2024 Contact Officer: Belinda Barry on *************@courts.act.gov.au or (02) 6207 4*** Details: The Senior Director - Legal/Deputy Registrar exercises the complex jurisdiction of the Registrar to hear and determine matters under the Court Procedures Rules 2006 and other legislation including applications for interim family violence and personal protection orders. The Senior Director - Legal/Deputy Registrar is responsible for civil and criminal case management and provides advice on complex questions of law, justice administration, practice and procedure, and on policy issues affecting the Court. The role provides direction and support to Registry staff, and leads the development and implementation of programs and procedure to support the innovative and efficient operation of the Court. The Senior Director - Legal/Deputy Registrar represents the Court at external meetings and working groups. Eligibility/ Other Requirements: 1.Mandatory: A degree in laws of an Australian tertiary institution, or a comparable overseas qualification. 2.Mandatory: Admission as a practitioner of the High Court or the Supreme Court of an Australian State or Territory.3.Previous experience working in a court environment is highly desirable.
