Our client, a leading engineering consultancy, invites applications for the role of Senior Distribution Design Engineer, focusing on Overhead Line Telecommunications fibre optic projects for Utility providers nationwide.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct thorough investigation, analysis, and scoping of 22kV to 240/415V (HV & LV) networks.
• Design overhead telecommunications fibre optic cables tailored to client and utility-specific requirements.
• Perform meticulous overhead power line design and modeling.
• Strategies asset relocations, reinforcement, and upgrades.
• Execute technical feasibility assessments, compliance audits, quality assurance checks, and detailed design tasks.
• Draft comprehensive aerial reticulation plans.
• Design and draft utility make-ready works with precision.
• Efficiently coordinate, manage, and schedule technical resources.
• Cultivate strong client relationships, ensuring mutually beneficial partnerships.
• Provide guidance and mentor-ship to junior team members.

Requirements:

• Electrical qualification with a minimum of 5 year's design experience.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD drafting.
• A robust understanding of electrical engineering fundamentals.
• Demonstrated expertise in Distribution Design for overhead and underground networks <66kV.
• Familiarity with local utility Technical Standards (desirable).
• Experience in delivering renewable energy projects (desirable).
• Thorough knowledge of Australian Standards including AS/NZS 3000, AS/NZS 2067 & AS/NZS 5033, AS 7000.
• Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Possession of a current Driver's License.
