About the role
Due to growth, we are looking for a Senior Distribution Designer/Engineer for our Townsville Office. This role will act as a critical interface for local utilities and offer high-quality design services in a safe, reliable, and commercially responsible manner. This opportunity will allow you to demonstrate your extensive technical knowledge, experience, and skills to undertake assigned detailed design work and lead a team of high-performing distribution engineers.
Responsibilities include:
- 22kV to 240/415V (HV & LV) network investigation, analysis, and scoping
- Overhead power line design & modelling
- Design of Asset relocations, reinforcement, and upgrades
- Street lighting design, AutoCAD and MicroStation Drafting
- Underground power networks design (including subdivisions)
- Technical feasibility assessments, technical compliance audits, quality assurance checks, and detailed design tasks.
- Coordinate, manage and schedule technical resources.
- Manage client interactions while maintaining mutually beneficial professional relationships.
- Support and mentor junior employees.

You will also need:
- An Electrical qualification with 5+ years design experience
- AutoCAD Drafting experience
- Strong first principle understanding of electrical engineering fundamentals.
- Demonstrated experience in distribution design for overhead and underground networks <66kV.
- Excellent understanding of local utility Technical Standards (desirable).
- Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills
- Current Driver's License
