About Us: Greenwood Hotel is one of Tilley and Wills flagship hotels with a long standing reputation of providing premium entertainment and service to our guests. Greenwood is a high volume pub that is renowned for its versatility such as its ability to host corporate events, Dance/Music events (with 1000+ people) and operating as the home to sporting clubs and parent teacher parties.

What we are looking for:

The Greenwood team are seeking an experienced hospitality professional to take on the role of Senior Duty Manager to assist with elevating their day-to-day operations. This is the perfect opportunity for someone who is looking to take the next step in their career, take on additional responsibilities outside general shift running and thrive in a business where every day is different.

Responsibilities:

Overseeing General Daily Business Operations:

  • Opening/closing the venue
  • Collaborate with kitchen and front of house staff to ensure an efficient flow of orders and timely food and beverage service
  • Regular reviewing of the efficiency of platforms such as Mr Yum and SevenRooms e.g suitable cover flow capacities, targeted promotions on specials or pairings etc
  • Working closely with events manager on upcoming functions, ensuring staff are briefed on the sequence of service, back of house systems and space are set and ready in a timely manner 
  • Oversee cleanliness and maintenance of the venue ensuring it meets established presentation expectations
  • Staff management – ensuring all staff are performing to the highest efficiency, have required breaks and are briefed in day to day operations.
  • Team Culture – leading by example by being consistent with your performance, maintaining a positive attitude and regularly building a positive workplace culture

Compliance:

  • Ensure adherence to Responsible Service of Alcohol regulations
  • Ensure adherence to venue-specific licensing conditions
  • Food safety and handling regulations
  • Confidently run high volume high compliance evenings
  • Daily review of incident register
  • Ensuring CCTV cameras are all in operation and reporting any faults to the General Manager
  • Overseeing/managing security team

Wastage and Stock Control:

  • Monitoring and inputting all recorded wastage in Jenson
  • Ensuring all bartenders are pouring correctly and any mistakes are recorded
  • Assisting with communicating supply requirements
  • Aiding venue manager in meeting stocktake shrinkage targets/investigating variances

Financial Management:

  • Monitor and control operational costs, including wages, supplies, and inventory 
  • Opening/closing - cash reconciliation and Daily Taking Reporting

Reservations/ Functions:

  • Working closely with the function team: Setting up spaces, managing bar tabs + staff briefing stock
  • Coordinating kitchen and front of house team for functions, delegating members to certain roles
  • Ensuring reservations are allocated on the floor for Lunch and Evening service

Customer Satisfaction:

  • Monitor and manage guest reservations and seating arrangements to optimise space usage and ensure guest satisfaction
  • Handle all customer complaints professionally and promptly 
  • Communicating feedback to the team
  • Identify any trends in customer reviews and provide training or feedback where required

WHS:

  • Reporting risks/ maintenance issues to GM
  • Completing appropriate forms in the event of a staff or patron incident

Managing risks during peak trade period

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in hotel management or supervisor role.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong venue compliance knowledge (general - we'll take you through out specific license conditions)
  • Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed.
