Senior Electrical Engineer - Bess (Battery Energy Storage System)

This role will see you enhance your capabilities and the reputation of WSP's Renewables team. You will collaborate with talented professionals working on iconic projects to drive future-ready outcomes that will benefit clients and communities.
As a Senior Electrical Engineer specialising in BESS (Battery Energy Storage Systems), join an industry leading team and collaborate both nationally and internationally. Utilise your extensive High Voltage design experience, along with your ability to lead and guide a team of up and coming consultants.

Energy
Our Energy team helps clients maintain safe and reliable power supplies, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and deliver future energy schemes to support sustainable city transitions.
What you'll do:

• Supporting WSP's renewable project development services
• Lead the development of concept and preliminary designs for BESS and Balance of Plant electrical design under the guidance of principal engineers
• Undertaking technical due diligence reviews of renewable energy projects under the guidance of principal engineers
• Providing independent engineering and owner's engineering construction services under the guidance of principal engineers

About You

• Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or similar relevant degree
• Typically, 4+ years' industry experience
• Understanding of or exposure to renewable energy technology and high voltage infrastructure projects
• Electrical infrastructure and balance of plant detailed design experience is preferred but not required
• Previous HV (33KV and above ) Electrical Engineering design experience is required
• Strong communication skills and a high standard of written communication
