About the Role We are seeking a detail-oriented Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Reliability and Integrity team at our Kwinana Pigment Plant. This role will play a key role in supporting the operational and compliance needs for electrical systems for our plant.
Core Responsibilities:
Support production continuity, operational efficiency, and electrical safety.
Lead the design, development, and testing of electrical and instrumentation systems and components for our cutting-edge projects, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and industry best practices.
Managing all electrical documentation including policies, procedures, and standards.
Designs and drawings.
Electrical safety dossier including electrical equipment located in hazardous areas.
Support periodic shutdown including switching activities.
Maintaining electrical documentation as required by legislation and engineering best practice.
Implement effective solutions to minimize downtime and verify the effectiveness of critical controls.
Lead troubleshooting efforts, formulate and complete corrective actions to mitigate or eliminate root causes of electrical failures or malfunctions.
Conduct testing and analysis to verify the functionality, reliability, and safety of electrical systems (both LV and HV).
Establish effective working relationships with stakeholders to support electrical compliance, improve plant integrity, improve day to day electrical maintenance (insulation, earthing, protection replays).
Proactively identify risks to current and future operations, providing solutions to investigate and mitigate such risks.
Collaborate with the asset improvement team, projects, planning, and electrical maintenance to achieve long term improvement and provide day to day operational support.
About you: To be successful in this role you will ideally possess:
A relevant tertiary-level qualification in Electrical and Instrumentation
7-10 years experience in an electrical, maintenance, or reliability engineering role within a chemical manufacturing plant or similar major hazard facility
Knowledge of electrical ELV, LV and HV distribution systems and drive systems
High Voltage switching, propulsion, and/or onboard distribution system experience
Experience in facilitating Defect Elimination (DE), Continuous Improvement (CI), and Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
Strong conceptual thinking and analytical focus
Excellent problem-solving skills and continual improvement focus
Knowledge of computer management systems (SAP, MS Office, etc)
Working closely with maintenance team
Strong understanding of electrical codes, standards, and regulations
Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with diverse stakeholders
