Senior Electrical Engineer (Power Systems) - Wind, Solar, Bess

Our client is currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Electrical Engineer specialising in Power Systems to join their dynamic team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the design, development, and optimisation of electrical Power Systems infrastructure, ensuring the reliable and efficient delivery of electricity.
Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design, analysis, and optimisation of electrical Power Systems, including transmission and distribution networks.
• Provide technical expertise and guidance on power system planning, operation, and maintenance activities.
• Conduct detailed studies and assessments to evaluate system performance, reliability, and resilience.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to develop innovative solutions for network optimisation and expansion.
• Participate in regulatory compliance activities and ensure adherence to industry standards and best practices.
• Develop strategies for integrating renewable energy sources such as wind and solar into the power grid.
• Design and oversee the implementation of battery storage, pumped hydro, and other energy storage solutions.
• Coordinate with utilities and grid operators to ensure seamless integration and operation of renewable energy assets.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field. Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in electrical Power Systems engineering, with a focus on transmission and distribution networks.
• Proven track record of successfully delivering complex engineering projects within budget and schedule constraints.
• In-depth knowledge of power system analysis software tools (e.g., PSS/E, PowerFactory, ETAP).
• Strong understanding of industry standards, regulations, and emerging trends in Power Systems engineering.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
• Professional engineering licence (Chartered Professional Engineer status preferred).
