ABOUT THE POSITION
The Senior Electrical Service Technician position is responsible for servicing and maintaining of customers’ existing mobile equipment, travel to site/ interstate will be required with the branch located at Acacia Ridge, QLD.
This position is also responsible for proactive customer support, maintenance and installation and the mentoring and training of our Electrical Service Apprentice.
DELIVERABLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure all works are performed in accordance with the Astec Core value of safety.
- Service equipment in workshop and on-site
- Ensure safety, JSA and safe work observations are completed each week and risk assessments for each job,
- Carry out workload of service jobs.
- Prepare service and failure reports.
- Installation and construction of new fixed or mobile plants. Ranging from Asphalt, concrete and agriculture equipment
- Fault finding, physically, within the PLC and remotely.
- Ability to mentor & train apprentice'
- Repairs to mobile and fixed asphalt production plants
- Dismantling and relocation of mobile and fixed production plants
- Conduct electrical inspections in workshop and on-site.
- Liaise with local and international technical specialists.
- Provide proactive customer support.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Electrical trade certificate
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience
- 1-3 years asphalt/quarry/Concrete industry experience - desired Not essential
- Training & Mentoring of apprentice- Essential
- PLC experience- Essential
- Plant, Mobile and Fixed equipment experience- Essential
- Proactive and efficient mindset
- Current class 'C' Drivers Licence
- Risk, Safety and Hazard identification experience would be an advantage
- Experience working on fixed and mobile plant equipment
