To meet our growing demands, we are looking for a Senior Instrument, Controls & Electrical Technician to join our team.
The Role: Reporting to the Field Superintendent, the purpose of the role is to provide expert site based technical support to the Surat Operation specifically, process control, instrumentation, LV & HV electrical systems, electrical equipment in Hazardous areas. This position will be a site focal point for all E & I Technician technical support issues.
In addition, you will:

- Model inclusive behaviours to create a safe environment where different views and perspectives are encouraged and valued.
- Ensure our instrument, electrical, process control, and communications assets are compliant, safe, and reliable.
- Assist with the development, implementation, and ongoing assurance of Instrument, electrical, process control, communications management systems.
- Identify, assess, and deliver instrument, electrical, and control systems/communications related improvement opportunities through TOMs case & MoC ownership and preparation of project initiation documents in time for annual budget cycles.
- Build Instrument, electrical, process control, and communications competency within the operation by coaching and developing other technicians.
- Develop strong relationships with Brisbane based operations support team members to maximise the benefit the operation obtains from these individuals.
About You
You will demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills along with the ability to contribute to a high performing-team with a second-to-none focus on safety and integrity.
To be considered for this role, you will ideally have:
- Previous control system experience working in heavy industry, ideally within oil and gas.
- In depth knowledge and experience across a range of OEM control systems, PLC’s, and communications systems.
- In depth knowledge of HV systems and processes.
- Certificate III in (Electrotechnology Trade, Instrumentation Trade, Process Plant Operations).
- Certificate IV in Hazardous Areas Electrical.
- HV Switching competencies.
- Current electrical licence recognised in Queensland.
- Gas Test Atmosphere MSMWHS217 or equivalent.
- Open driver’s licence (Manual).
- Light Vehicle Operations RIIVEH305 or PMASUP236
- Current First Aid including CPR and LV rescue.
- Working at Heights -RIIWHS204D or equivalent
