  • Remuneration: $105,466 to $114,196 pa (HEW6) (inclusive of $89,120 to $96,497 salary pa, 17% superannuation and 17.5% recreation leave loading)
  • Location: Gardens Point

Who are we looking for?

We are seeking a Senior Technician, Electrical to join Faculty Operations, Faculty of Engineering, Academic Division.

Interested in applying your electrical skills in a dynamic tertiary environment? QUT is looking for an enthusiast, licensed electrician to work within our Faculty of Engineering, to assist in the delivery of teaching and research activities. This role will work alongside our Academic experts in a highly collaborative technical team. The role will be engaged in the development and delivery of experiential activities for our educational program, as well as supporting unique and often complex research endeavors.

What you need to succeed

  1. Completion of an electrical trade qualification and current holder of a Queensland Electrical Work Licence (mechanic or fitter) with extensive relevant experience in a large organisation. 
  2. Demonstrated advanced electrical skills including, but not limited to, system design, bespoke installations, fault finding, and repairs and maintenance.
  3. Demonstrated ability to apply analytical problem-solving skills to critically evaluate projects, equipment, systems, and processes in the electrical domain. 
  4. Proven ability to prioritise tasks, critically evaluate systems and processes and work collaboratively to achieve team-based outcomes in a complex and changing environment. 
  5. Demonstrated ability to implement and adhere to health, safety and environment policies and procedures, while maintaining a positive and effective health and safety culture. 
  6. Demonstrated ability to contribute to the cultural development of a team to achieve outstanding, team-based results.
