An excellent opportunity is currently available for an experienced and licenced Electrician within a well-established and advanced refinery operation located in an ideal lifestyle location. The Refinery produces bulk refined sugar and speciality sugar products for the Australian domestic market.
The Refinery operation features a wide range of automated and steam supported processing plant including melter, clarifier, vacuum pan, centrifugal plant and dryer plant. This diverse manufacturing environment provides a broad scope of challenging maintenance and project work covering the electrical, instrumentation and process control field and is an ideal environment to further develop and enhance your technical skills.
About the Role:
As the primary electrical tradesperson for the site, this critical autonomous role works closely with a Maintenance Planner and a Process Control Engineer and reports directly to the Engineering Manager.
Your focus will be on providing technical support to the production department during continuous operations throughout the year, which includes troubleshooting plant and equipment issues, carrying out running repairs, executing scheduled preventative maintenance tasks and attending to breakdowns.
During the annual major shutdown, you will play an active role in the implementation of capital and improvement projects which currently includes a significant ongoing project upgrading the process control systems for the entire operation.
Key Position Requirements:
- Relevant electrical breakdown, maintenance and project skills and experience associated with a manufacturing or similar operation.
- Effective troubleshooting and fault-finding skills
- Ability to work with minimal supervision; including assessing, planning and organising work.
- Well-developed communication and teamwork skills, including the ability to liaise and work cooperatively with a wide range of people across the workplace.
- Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to Safety, Health, Environment and Quality requirements and processes.
- Electrical Trade qualifications and a current QLD Electrical Work Licence or equivalent.
Desirable Position Requirements:
- Skills and experience in relation to calibrating, installing, commissioning, and maintaining a wide range of instrumentation.
- Knowledge and skills associated with DCS, PLC and SCADA control systems.
- Experience with using Computerised Maintenance Management systems, in particular SAP.
- Experience within the sugar industry and /or Food Manufacturing will be highly regarded.
