About the Role

 

As a Senior Employee Relations Advisor (T&C Consultant), you will provide expert labor relations advice intended to ensure participants are treated fairly, lawfully and in line with ANZ policies and Values, while ensuring regulatory compliance and the risks to the bank are mitigated.

 

This post is part of the Employee Relations Asia, Europe and America (ER AEA) Team, reporting to the Team Lead, AEA. The role holder manages day-to-day relationships with various senior stakeholders across a number of ANZ locations, working collaboratively and effectively as part of a multi-geography team, and implement continuous improvement initiatives aimed at building line manager capability, confidence and awareness in dealing with people-related matters.

Shift Schedule: Day shift 

 

What will your day look like?

 

As a Senior Employee Relations Advisor, you will also be responsible for, but not limited to:

 

  • Managing complex Employee Relations matters independently, including grievances, misconduct investigations, disciplinary and appeal matters
  • Providing expert Employee Relations advice on employment regulatory matters across Asia, Europe and America, particularly in the Philippines.
  • Leading and managing various Employee Relations and Talent & Culture (T&C) initiatives
  • Coaching, mentoring and supervising other members of the ER AEA team
  • Building knowledge and capability within the ER AEA team
  • Managing team operating costs / external legal provider costs
  • Building and maintaining effective relationships with service users and stakeholders, including the local legal teams in the Philippines
  • Providing clear and authoritative advice to service users on complex and/or sensitive Employee Relations cases and projects and on Health, Safety & Wellbeing (HSW) matters within area of responsibility
  • Undertaking Employee Relations case management of varying complexity, where understanding of Employee Relations, legal, regulatory, business, HSW and T&C stakeholder requirements intersect
  • Collaborating with legal teams in the preparation for and participation in labor relations matters
  • Keeping across key developments in Manila employment law and labor legislation and regulation and providing proactive and strategic advice to relevant stakeholders

 

What will you bring?

 

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

 

  • Business and/or Human Resources Management and/or Law degree (post graduate legal qualifications in particular are highly desirable)         
  • Extensive experience in a specialist Employee Relations role or employment legal role, demonstrating a thorough understanding of employment laws, regulation and policy
  • Demonstrated, strong experience engaging and managing senior stakeholders, ideally in a multi-national context, and ability to function as a strong and collaborative colleague and team member
  • Demonstrated ability to apply sound judgement, well developed influencing skills and commercial acumen to a range of cases
  • Demonstrated advanced understanding of relevant employment legislation, regulation and industrial instruments and ability to apply sound judgment and commercial acumen to a range of ER matters including labor relations
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and strong attention to detail
