The Energy Data & Analytics branch, part of the Strategy & Implementation Division, is actively recruiting two Senior Energy Analysts for its Data Governance team.
About You
The role of a Senior Energy Analyst is pivotal in developing the Energy-sector-specific Cost-Benefit Analysis (CBA) Framework and supporting teams on an ongoing basis that require CBAs. This includes conducting energy modelling, monetising, and calculating costs and benefits, drafting the CBA section of business cases, liaising with NSW Treasury, and reviewing CBAs done by external consultants. Successful candidates should possess a good understanding of the energy sector and economic analysis.
Beyond technical proficiency, effective communication and collaboration skills are essential for seamlessly working within a team environment and contributing to the development of a robust Framework. Strong attention to detail is beneficial while reviewing CBAs conducted by external consultants.
Essential Requirements
- Qualifications or relevant experience in mathematics, statistics, engineering, computer science, information management, finance, economics, or another relevant discipline
- Experience with performing both technical and economic analysis, including using a range of relevant platforms and techniques
- Demonstrated ability to learn and apply new analysis and modelling techniques as required
- Knowledge of the energy sector and the NSW Treasury CBA Guidelines is desirable
