The Technology division delivers the Group's information technology and banking operations functions to ensure the highest levels of customer service through world-class process excellence and technology innovation. Cyber Security protects the bank and our customers from theft, losses and risk events, through effective and proactive management of cyber security, privacy and operational risk.

Your new team:
The Fraud Technology team is part of the Group Security CIO and Engineering Practice and is accountable for the development, implementation and ongoing leadership of the Group's Fraud technology platform in their fight against fraudulent and scam activities.
Our platform's purpose is to support the Group Fraud Management Services in providing world class fraud prevention and detection to safeguard CBA and wider community.
We are responsible for CommBank's real-time Fraud Decisioning Platform (FDP) and work to create world-leading capabilities for fraud management solutions dealing with high volume (100m+/day) and low latency (<250ms) traffic in real-time and near real-time.
Technologies we use include Ab Initio, SAS, Pegasus Case Management, Oracle and Java.

Your impact and contribution:
As the Senior Engineer (Software) you are responsible for the end-to-end software design, development and implementation across a variety of services and solutions, with the initial key focus on our SAS services.
You will also:
Work across the teams SAS services supporting end-to-end project delivery.
Develop and deploy high-quality software solutions and code.
Analyse business objectives and identify functional and non-functional requirements,
Design and implement technical solutions for functional and non-functional requirements.
Provide accurate estimates for the development effort for new features.
Apply and promote industry best patterns and practices.
Contribute to the strategic engineering goals within own team and platform.
We are interested in people who:
Have backend development experience involving large volume of data between systems, this includes working with hands-on data processing and have had exposure to complex data systems with multiple layers of integration and heavy data engineering.
You will bring:
Experience developing complex back-end solutions and code working with SAS highly regarded.
Back-end software development experience working across a variety of coding languages e.g. Java, Python etc essential.
Understanding working with ANSI SQL. Working with at least one of the RDBMS including Oracle, Teradata, PostgreSQL and MySQL highly regarded.
Scripting languages experience e.g. Bash, KSH or Python.
Proficient working across Linux environments highly desirable.
Experience in database query tuning, optimisation, large volume load/unload/join etc.
