About our opportunityWithin the Asset Maintenance group, our
Technical Operations team manage a variety capital projects and operational maintenance programs of works across roads, drains and natural areas, primarily delivered by contractors. The team are focused on delivery projects on time and on budget, to meet service delivery requirements with community focused outcomes.As the
Senior Engineer -
Technical Operations, you'll be mentoring and managing a team of two, driving the delivery of projects by exploring issues, scoping, design and contract management. You'll also be:
- Managing activities of staff and contractors, ensure safe and compliant works
- Ensuring high level strategic reviews are undertaken of contractor delivered works
- Resolving technical issues, focused on cost effective solutions considering whole of life costs
- Ensuring delivery of capital renewal and maintenance programs in line with Asset Management Plans
- Contribute to the development of the Operations Department, developing skills within the broader workforce.
The team are currently based at the Petrie Depot and will relocate to the brand new, purpose built Narangba Depot later in the year.
About youBring your project management and engineering experience, knowledge of infrastructure assets and leadership experience, as well as:
- Comprehensive experience delivering maintenance, renewal and construction programs
- Substantial experience across the evaluation, design, management, rehabilitation, and preventative maintenance of civil infrastructure assets
- Demonstrated ability applying engineering principles and achieving sound engineering solutions
- Comprehensive experience building high quality relationships with a range of stakeholders, as well as ensuring team members are valued and encouraged to meet a range of objectives
- Degree qualification in Civil, Structural, Environmental or Mechanical Engineering recognised by Engineers Australia (required)
- Construction Induction Card (required, or willing to obtain at own expense)
- Current C class driver's license (required).
