Audience Republic is an all-in-one CRM & marketing platform for events, venues, artists & creators. Our customers are some of the largest names in the world - including events featuring artists like Justin Bieber, Post Malone, RUFUS DU SOL, ODESZA and Flume.
We are a fast growing technology startup in B2B SaaS, and have raised $9M from investors. Our team is based across North America, United Kingdom, Europe and APAC.
The Role
In this pivotal role, you will lead and manage our team of 7 engineers, ensuring we ship fast and high quality against our product roadmap. The ideal candidate is not only technically proficient but also possesses strong interpersonal skills, a product-focused mindset, and is comfortable wearing multiple hats in a scrappy startup environment.
Responsibilities:
Agile Leadership:
- Run sprints end to end, including task estimation sessions, sprint planning, day-to-day sprint management, and retrospectives
- Lead daily stand-ups and ensure efficient day-to-day execution from the engineering team
Product Delivery:
- Deliver and execute the product roadmap in alignment with agreed timelines.
- Communicate actively with stakeholders on progress through weekly updates.
- Ensure robust QA practices with appropriate processes and comprehensive test coverage to ensure a high quality customer experience in our product.
Team Building and Culture:
- Build a high performance engineering culture, aligned with the company's values.
- Mentor and coach engineers, and work with them to build career pathways that align with their goals.
- Organize team structure and spearhead recruitment efforts to attract top-tier engineering talent.
Metrics & Reporting
- Track progress and quality through metrics like story points, sprint velocity, and bug counts.
- Utilize JIRA to produce metrics, dashboards, and reports to communicate engineering progress against key deliverables.
Documentation and Process:
- Develop, maintain & measure processes, monitoring adherence for smooth operations as an engineering team and seamless cross-functional collaboration.
- Create and ensure engineering design documents are reviewed and signed-off before large feature development.
- Ensure meticulous product requirements are created to ensure delivery of high quality product that meets the commercial objectives
Performance Monitoring:
- Set up and maintain performance monitoring infrastructure with appropriate alerting.
- Provide feedback into the product roadmap based on performance insights.
Technical Expertise:
- Conduct PR (pull request) reviews of engineering team commits, provide feedback and any other insights where appropriate.
- Demonstrate deep technical knowledge in scaling systems from MVP to handling thousands of requests per second.
- Deep technical knowledge on scaling systems from MVP -> 1000's of requests per second, had a hand in designing and building such a system, setting up diagnostics/reporting and handled incidents from start to resolution including hands on work required to affect remediation and subsequent changes to process or development practices to prevent such situations going forward in the future.
- Capable of describing such a system, the design decisions that were made and the rational for why they were made, including network architecture diagrams, security provisions, monitoring solution, cost optimisations, deployment steps (cloud formation, ansible) etc..

Qualifications:
- Proven experience in an engineering management role within a technology-focused startup environment.
- Proficiency in SCRUM/Kanban/Scrumban methodologies.
- Strong experience with JIRA for metrics, dashboards, and reporting.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
