Senior Engineering Manager

Gamuda Engineering is a reputable Engineering and Construction contractor that specialises in the design, construction, operation and maintenance of Transport and Infrastructure projects. 

As part of Gamuda’s commitment to expansion, Gamuda Engineering has established offices in Sydney and Melbourne to pursue and deliver a variety of construction projects. We are currently delivering the $2.16B Sydney Metro West – Western Tunnelling Package and have also commenced in joint venture both the $1.35B Coffs Harbour Bypass and $1bn M1 Motorway Extension Southern Package. 

We are also currently tendering and have been shortlisted for a number of major infrastructure projects across Victoria.

The Role

Working across our regional portfolio of projects across Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania you will be responsible for leading the design management and technical engineering deliverables including feasibility of identified projects, pre-contract and in project design. 

This will include:

• Responsibility for the overall strategy for design management and technical solutions.
• Managing a multi-disciplinary team of design managers and engineers including team development and resource planning across the project and tender portfolio.
• Driving design innovation, value engineering and best practice across projects teams and the broader engineering business.
• Manage the interface with clients, authorities and key stakeholders on design and technical issues.
• Lead the strategy and procurement of consultants and design partners.

Your skills & experience

You will ideally have Degree qualifications in Civil Engineering and local or international experience working with major construction companies in the delivery of large scale infrastructure as an Engineering Manager on major projects or in a national or regional capacity. Your specific skills and experience will include:

• Successfully leading design management teams on major infrastructure projects including road, rail and/or tunnelling projects.
• Have established relationships with key client stakeholders and leading design consultancies within Australia.
• The ability to think and plan strategically .
• A track record of delivering innovation and efficiencies in the design of major projects.
• A commitment to developing both the technical and personal capability of your team.
